Wells Lamont is a 120-year-old heritage work glove manufacturer based outside Chicago. Known for its quality, Wells Lamont is a 120-year-old heritage work-glove manufacturer based outside Chicago. Known for its quality leather rancher gloves, it has branched out into categories including gardening, high-dexterity, waterproof leather, and synthetic leather throughout its history. It was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway in 2013.

The Challenge:

Although the company had been successful, competitors like Mechanix and Carhartt were attracting a younger audience, and sales reflected the need for a total brand refresh. The newly hired Product Director's mission was to find the right designer who could also lead in a new brand strategy. Even though I came from a women's apparel background, it was this director's keen eye and instinct that brought me on. My objective was to set a new direction and redesign the branding assets and the product itself, which enabled the internal team to continue the new brand direction.
